Stay Comfortable on the Big Day!
Your wedding day should be filled with happiness and celebration. However, often times there are things that can take away from this, such as your feet hurting or your outfit not fitting exactly right. In order to look and feel your best on the big day, we have compiled a list of things you can do to stay comfortable at your ceremony and reception:
1. Make sure it fits! For both brides and grooms, it is common and typically recommended that you have two to three fittings to make sure that your garment is altered properly and fits you perfectly for the big day. You should even test out the shoes and undergarments you plan to wear to make sure they are comfortable enough to wear for a full day of wedding festivities. At DuBois, we require a "final fitting" where the tuxedo is tried on and any last minute changes or alterations are made so that you will feel your best.
2. Break in your shoes! You will be on your feet for most of the day. Nobody likes worrying about painful shoes hurting your feet when you're walking down the aisle or busting a move on the dance floor. Wedding experts typically recommend breaking in your shoes a week or two before your wedding if possible. If your shoes are not very comfortable, but you really want to wear them on your big day, consider bringing a more comfortable pair to change into at the reception.
3. Perfect your hair and make-up! About 3-4 weeks before your wedding date, get your hair and make-up done as if it were your wedding day in order to make sure you love your look and will feel comfortable with it. If you've never used fake eyelashes before, you may find that they are not very comfortable. If your hairstyle doesn't stay in place or isn't comfortable, having it done in advance will give you enough time to change your look if desired.
