Groom's Calendar

Groom's Calendar

In this day and age, grooms are taking a much more active role in the planning of their weddings.  For this reason, we've created a groom's calendar to make sure that you don't forget any important details of wedding planning!

10-12 Months Before...
After your engagement, and about 10-12 months before your wedding date, you should begin to discuss wedding plans with your fiance, parents, and other responsible parties. It is important to establish a budget so you know how much you are willing to spend. At this time, you should also select who you would like to be in your wedding party, including your best man, groomsmen, and ushers.

8-9 Months Before...
After announcing your engagement to family and friends, establishing a budget, and selecting your wedding party, you should begin to prepare your guest list.  By knowing approximately how many people you will be expecting at your ceremony, you can decide on a venue for your wedding and meet with your religious or other official to discuss the ceremony.  At this time, you can also start looking into honeymoon travel plans.  Remember that tickets are usually much cheaper if purchased in advance!

6 Months Before...
While your bride is busy picking out the perfect wedding dress, it is now your responsibility to pick out the perfect tuxedos for yourself and your wedding party! About six months before your wedding date, you should visit your local DuBois Formalwear store to register your wedding party and pick out your wedding styles.  Make sure that all of your groomsmen know that they need to get fitted for their tuxedos and place their orders.  At this time, you should also begin to make transportation plans for how you and your wedding party will get to the ceremony and the reception.

3 Months Before...
Three months before your wedding date, you should have your guest list and honeymoon plans finalized.  This is also the time when you should select and order your wedding rings, choose gifts for your wedding party, and choose a gift for your lovely bride!  Additionally, you and your bride should begin to plan the rehearsal dinner.

1 Month Before...
At this time, you will need to make sure that everyone in your wedding party has been measured for their tuxedos and that those who are from out of town have returned their fitting cards.  You should also file for your marriage license one month before your wedding date!

2 Weeks Before...
Make sure that you have sent all of your new information to insurance carriers, banks, and other institutions about 2 weeks before your wedding date.

The Week Before...
Pick up your tuxedo and try everything on to ensure a proper fit!  Start packing for your honeymoon!

Your Wedding Day...
On your wedding day, double check all of the details, especially the rings and the license.  Make sure that you arrive at the ceremony on time, and enjoy your special day!

Tuxedo Add-On's

Tuxedo Add-On's

While there is no doubt that your tuxedo alone will make you look fashionable and handsome, sometimes adding an accessory is the finishing touch that will truly make you stand out at your event.  Choosing to add a cane, a top hat, or gloves will give you a more stylish and formal look.

Moreover, adding a pocket square, or even two different colored pocket squares, will bring a splash of color to your tuxedo.  Take a look at our catalog to see a full list of add-on options.

Why you should book your prom tux early!

Why You Should Book
Your Prom Tux Early!

Many parents and students wonder why it is necessary to book their prom rental earlier than a week before their prom date. Here's why... If you are looking for a certain style or if you need to match your date's dress color, you will want to come in early so that you are guaranteed to get exactly what you are looking for.  Popular colors and styles can become unavailable quickly during the prom season; therefore, it's a good idea to come in two to three months before your prom to ensure that you'll get the color and style that you want!

Another nice thing about coming in early is that you can become a Prom Rep, and when you get five friends to come in, your tuxedo rental is FREE! Moreover, if you refer ten or more friends to DuBois, you can get your tuxedo rental for FREE, and you will also receive a $100 VISA gift card. Just remember... the early bird always gets the worm!
